The Franklin Apple Harvest Festival was a one day and night Folk Festival that featured around 50 local acts and one visiting act. It ran through the early 200s for 5 years. Steve Gadd handed over this festival to a committee after running four festivals ..under community ownership it morphed into a new festival called the Focus on Franklin. This has become a general village fair with less focus on music and dance.

Shake Sugaree
Shake Sugaree began over a decade ago, when Peter Hicks, vocals, guitars, Dobro, mandolin and blues harp and Steve Gadd, vocal guitars, banjo and ukulele, got together to play a unique local mixture of blues, ragtime, swing and bluegrass music. The original duo took roots music styles and added local and contemporary references and a lot of anarchic whimsy.
