Czardas are Erin Collins, vocals and accordion, Steve Gadd, guitar and Marjorie Gadd on fiddle. Steve and Marjorie work as an instrumental duet however the inclusion of Erin's velvet vocals have allowed the group to focus on songs in folkish and cabaret styles which weave seamlessly into instrumental excursions.

A Czardas is a wild Hungarian tavern dance much loved by the Tzigane. Playing both traditional and original material Czardas, the trio, draw on Russian, Hungarian, Flamenco, Gypsy, Yiddish and Middle Eastern elements for inspiration. They present a program that takes you from deeply moving haunting airs to extravagent instrumentals and burlesque songs all delivered with passion and just a touch of pathos.

Czardas have played extensively in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria.
Their CD ,released several years ago, in A Vision has been well received.
All members of this group are part of the 9 piece Gypsy Swing band Das Swing. In contrast to Das Swing, Czardas, however, is a more intimate unit and focuses on concert style performances rather than dances.

This group can play featured concerts but are also suitable as background music for special events.

Shake Sugaree

Shake Sugaree began over a decade ago, when Peter Hicks, vocals, guitars, Dobro, mandolin and blues harp and Steve Gadd, vocal guitars, banjo and ukulele, got together to play a unique local mixture of blues, ragtime, swing and bluegrass music. The original duo took roots music styles and added local and contemporary references and a lot of anarchic whimsy.
